November 4-in-1

What a month November has been! I found an ammonite fossil at a bead show in October and wanted to make it into a necklace for someone who has a November birthday and who I thought would appreciate it. I really liked the colors in the fossil and wanted to accentuate them. Here's how the necklace turned out and fortunately it was done in time for the birthday.

Second, we shared Thanksgiving with Dad, Claudia, and Ron.

Third, this year, Thanksgiving was on Ron's birthday so I made him a cherry pie. Dad and Ron both said that's what he requested for his birthday when he was growing up. We all sang Happy Birthday to him and he got wished a happy birthday many times before the day was over.

Fourth, winter and flowers. Anchorage is now experiencing winter. Temperatures are between low and cold; snow covers the mountains, trees, and roads; and there's not a whole lot of time between sunrise and sunset. However, a dear friend gave me this orchid lei today! I am so grateful for beautiful fresh flowers in the cold of winter! And for good friends!

Ann, I'm so glad that you made my Dad a cherry pie for his B-Day! He loved it! He has told me before that that's what he used to have instead of a birthday cake. Thanks so much for making his birthday a nice one! :)
