Flattop

I wondered if a 5- and 6-year old would be interested in climbing all the way up the mountain. Before one reaches the top, about a 1,252 foot elevation gain, one must climb nearly vertical rock. Could they do it or would they stop? Oh Grandma, the real question is "could you move as fast as they could?"

For Ethan and Aidan, here's a picture of Flattop:

Aidan is charging ahead - actually to catch up with Ethan who isn't in the picture!

A snack at the platform overlooking the Anchorage bowl.

Gordon and the boys continue on with Angelina as Grandma and Grandpa rest for a few minutes.

Here's proof they made it to the top.

And here's proof Alan and I also made it - it just took us a little longer.

What goes up, must come down. Down hill seems so much easier. And, if you look in the lower left of the photo you see Ethan way out ahead of the rest of us.
