Alan thought the kitchen cabinetry and tile backsplash would would be finished by the time he came home in late October. That didn't happen, but while he was here we got the first of the clear maple cabinet doors put up and the drawer fronts put on. Alan got the stainless steel backsplash for behind the cooktop made and installed. (I don't know how to take a picture of the stainless steel without the flash causing a glare.) We even got some of the drawers and shelves lined and moved some things back into the kitchen. I'm looking forward to more completed cabinets and the tile backspash this week. My fingers are crossed; seems like that is all I can do about it on some days.
