We had a gorgeous Indian Summer. The sun continued to shine and temperatures warmed up during the day. Even on October 1st the trees had leaves covering them. In Alaska we know that anytime after the middle of September the rains and winds can come and the leaves quickly fall from the trees. Alan took these pictures on the first in the early evening. It's a good thing he did. After that evening, the sunshine disappeared. Nonetheless, late September and early October were beautiful!

If you can see the mountain top in the background, you'll note there isn't even termination dust (Alaskan-speak for early snowfall) on the top!
Now we just about have the gardens ready for winter. I'm not wanting to rush anything - I just want to take advantage of the opportunity to be outside before it's too wet and cold.
